Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community
It has always been a dream of mines to service children and their families. One of the biggest organizations that have catered to the needs of children and families is Focus:Hope. Focus:Hope is an non-profit organization that I would love to work for. The mission statement is driven around building a metropolitan community where all people may live in freedom, harmony, trust , and affection (Cunningham, 1968).
The values of Focus:Hope focus on collaboration, diversity, empowerment, excellence, hope, integrity, and people (Cunningham, 1968). The position I would love to apply to is the education specialist position. The educational specialist support and guide teachers in implementing quality into the program. The qualification for this job requires a Master's in Early Childhood Education and at least 1 year experience working in an early childhood setting.

The next organization that appeals to me is StarFish Family Services. Starfish is an early childhood organization that provides services to early childhood development and parenting programs, children's mental health services, after-school programs, and an emergency shelter for teens and youth in crisis (StarFish, 1963). For this organization I would love to be apart of the mental health services. Their are many children and families who suffer from several different disabilities and issues and the administrators who encounter them do not understand how to approach there need. The qualification for this position are a master's degree in social work, psychology, or other related human service field, registration/licensure as a social worker, counselor, and medical social work experience.

Lastly, I would love to work as a program support specialist for Head Start. The position will help head start program provide support to delegates to ensure that they are following the performance standard. The qualification for this position is bachelor's degree in human services, Early Childhood Education, previous work experience with program data analysis, a strong communication skills and computer skills, and an understanding of the federal grants process as it applies to the Head Start Program. The position is listed, but the name of the company is not named. We have so many head start programs that are suffering from a lack of knowledge. Having the opportunity to provide that guidance will lead to more successful programs and not more programs closing.
