Relationship Reflection

Here is a picture of my mother and father, Michael and Barbara Norrell on their wedding day. These two individual mean the world to me. My mother and father built an excellent foundation for me. They imparted in me the true meaning of love and commitment. The have been through so much together from miscarriages to death, from heart ache to excitement, they have experienced it all, and for that I am thankful.
The relationship that we have together is amazing. In my early years, my dad and I always bumped heads and always was at each others throat. It wasn't until I got older that I realize why my dad was so hard on me, I was his baby, his first born, the first one that made it. This make parents a little over protective, but I had to realize that he only wanted the best for me and did not stop until I received any and everything that he could give me. I would trade our relationship for nothing. I appreciate my parents because they are excellent role models for my girls. Their father is not always their, but I'm thankful my dad is instilling in them what a father should do for his children. Because of him they will not settle for less or allow anyone to treat them a certain way. They are the rock to a solid foundation.

Relationship are important because they make you feel wanted and appreciated. Relationships are important for individuals to have someone to pull you back in when you are starting to steer in the wrong direction. Relationships are key factors in some individuals developmental process.

The relationships that I have encountered both positive and negative help me to become a better individual. It helps me to grow and it allows me to help the children that I work with see that they are special. I try to treat everyone the same. I show love to all my children and allow them to see that it is ok to feel a certain way and together we can work through it. Building a positive relationship with children helps them to feel better about themselves.
