Sharing Web Resources

I have been looking through this website for quite some time and a haven't really ventured out into what is on the outside. When I started in the link titled Young Exceptional Children it discusses how they link was designed for teachers, administrators, therapist, and family members to have some research on children with special needs. At the bottom of the 1st paragraph their is a link that states, "Click here to learn more about YEC."

When I clicked on the link it lead to page titles SAGE. This page displayed a book called Young Exceptional Children.

Young Exceptional Children (YEC) offers useful, friendly articles that help readers implement research-based strategies and interventions across many settings.

Each issue covers a variety of intervention strategies; you will find ideas to use in classrooms, in home based programs, with special populations, and in family home routines. YEC also reviews important topics, such as:
  • Adapting Physical Activities
  • Assessing Intervention Outcomes
  • Recommended Practices for Children with Autism
  • Addressing Challenging Behaviors
  • Culturally Sensitive Interventions
  • Developmentally Appropriate Practices
  • Early Literacy Development Tools
  • Embedding Interventions within Family and Classroom Routines
  • Family-Friendly Interventions
  • Family-Guided Routines
  • Portfolio Assessment
  • Positive Behavior Support
  • Second Language Acquisition
  • Strategies For Successful Inclusion
The items that are provided are helpful to all individuals

working with children, regardless of a special need or not.

Being able to implement your own plan and strategies to help

others is an amazing experience.

In my search I found that many individuals do not have

resources at hand and this book allows them with these.

I have not received a e-newsletter from this organization. A lot of the information given is blocked because of membership, but their is a fee for the membership. The information that is given just gives you an overview, but in order to receive the best information available to those who are in need is if you purchase the material that it is posted in.
I do understand that we need all information possible to help our children, but I do believe that somethings should be available at hand because are first interest is to provide a better education for our children regardless of their condition.

Great resource. I agree availability to information that will assist in sustaining the development of children should be priority.
