Final Blog

This course has been utterly amazing for me. I have learned so much and the experience has caused me to rethink my professional and personal goals. I want to do so much more for the children and families, especially those out of the country. I plan to continue to help the children a currently service in the community, but I want the children who receive less from other countries to receive the opportunity to have the ability to say I do not want to stay in this state of thinking.
Learning about the international early childhood was sad. I had no idea that their are some countries that are so poor that their government do not cater to their needs of education. We have poverty-stricken areas that we services, but those in that state are not considered.
I also learned that the teachers work just as hard as we do and are just as devoted to help our children, but what was interesting was that they were not quick to provide information about their programs. The individuals that I tried to connect with forward me to speak with government because they were not allowed to volunteer information. Some countries do not want others to know that it is a struggle, or do not want to seek out help because they are afraid what might happen if they provide information. I personally thought we were all here to help each other, but that is not the case. The trust issue has clearly gone out the door, but I can understand why.

  1. I agree it was hard to see what the different countries are doing, some are ahead of the ball game and others need more financial support. Thank you for sharing your passion each week and all that you do for children and families!

  2. I feel that part of our world is giving up while the other part is still striving to help. This is not right. If everyone could work together to help everyone in need then our world would be a better and more equitable place. Learning about different countries has for sure opened our eyes to see what really is going on out there but at the same time it showed us a lack of interest in improvising our education system. It is great to see that some countries are doing everything in their power to support the children of their future but it is disappointed to also know that some countries are incapable of helping those children and their families.

  3. I agree that there is a drawback to obtaining information because of the stimulations placed on those in the ECE programs internationally. You would think that as a whole we can all learn from each other and build collaborations and partnerships around the world. It would certainly help with the language barriers. Good post and continue what you do for the children.
