This is a picture of my parents: Barbara and Michael Norrell
They have given me more than anyone could ever ask. My parents and I are extremely close. I have an excellent relationship with them. I am able to share and express anything with them. I couldn't ask for anything greater. The things that they have showed indicate what I would want in a marriage and in a family. They provided an amazing childhood experience that I want to give the same to my girls.

Here we have the foundation of my life. This is where it all started. On the left is my dad's parents, Arthur and Clara, who are deceased. Whenever I didn't agree with my parents or I wanted something my grandparents would talk my parents into given it to me. I love them and miss them dearly. The traditions that they started, I am proud to say we still continue through with it. In the middle is my parents, and on the right is my mother's parents Thelma and Richard Williams. My grandfather on my mother side is deceased. I remember him always telling me stories of his childhood and would always call me number 1 because I was my mother's first born. He was mean at times, but I appreciate his teachings because they were full of wisdom. My grandmother, Thelma, I glad she is still with us. I'm thankful I see her every Sunday at church. She is such a sweet lady. She says every week never let anybody run over you.

This my grandparents at my mom and dad's wedding.

The family: At the top is my great-grandparents and at the bottom all their children, 12 of them. They were all born in Monticello, Arkansas, where we often vacation. My great-grandmother was 96 when she passed. I admired her because after having 12 children she never showed signs of weakness. My great-grandfather I never got the chances to meet, he passed away years before I was even born.

My dad, on the right, and his brother and sisters. They are closer than I have ever seen brothers and sisters. To them their is no such things as those are my kids. They have taking care of me and all my cousins as if we were all brothers and sisters. From them I have learned that family is more important than anything in the world. We are a support system for each other.

This is me at the age of 2. I was in the hospital for a week for spinal meningitis. The doctors said if my mother would've waited one more hour to bring me to the hospital I would not be here today. Even at this devastating news my family was still their to support my mom and dad. We are a family that prays together so we stay together.

TaShanna,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading more about your family! It appears that you come from a very large, supporting and loving family. That is wonderful that you were able to meet and have a relationship with your great grandmother. I never had the opportunity of meeting my great grandparents. That is also amazing that your parents supported you through your childhood illness. I love the quote that "a family who prays together we stay together". That is so true! It really seems you had a wonderful support system growing up and currently as well! Thanks for sharing.
You seem to come from a very large, strong, and supportive family. It was fantastic that you had the chance to know your great-grandmother. I am glad your parents were there with you through your illness as I know spinal meningitis can be a very scary thing for a young child. It is a fantastic thing to know your family is so close and supportive of one another.
